In a stunning development, North Korean hackers have pulled off the largest cryptocurrency heist to date, stealing $1.4 billion from major exchange Bybit. Here’s what we know so far.

North Korean Hackers Steal $1.4 Billion in Crypto, Lazarus Group Not Alone

In February, North Korean hackers made headlines with the largest single hack in crypto history. The Lazarus Group stole at least $1.4 billion from Bybit, a major cryptocurrency exchange, and later funneled those funds to crypto mixers. Samczsun, a research partner at Paradigm, witnessed the theft in real-time and collaborated with Bybit to confirm the unauthorized access. The researcher was working with SEAL 911, an emergency response unit affiliated with the Security Alliance. However, these attacks are not limited to the Lazarus Group, indicating that North Korea has a broader range of hacking operations in the cryptocurrency space.

Pi Coin Price Prediction: Can PI Bounce Back After Recent 68% Drop?

Pi Network (PI) has been trapped in the wider crypto market bearish outlook. The mid-cap altcoin, with a fully diluted valuation of about $7.5 billion and a 24-hour average traded volume of about $196 million, has dropped over 68 percent in the past four weeks to trade at $0.723 on Monday, March 31. The Pi team has struggled to keep the network vibrant following the hyped token generation event and notable pushback from top-tier centralized exchanges, led by Bybit. Despite several network updates, none has stirred bullish momentum to date.
